 bsnes v0.025
Lundi 15/10/07 à 11:16 par Firebrand
Cet émulateur Super nintendo en plein développement vient d'être mis à jour. Cette nouvelle version émule notamment les jeux équipés de chips DSP-3 et DSP-4:
bsnes is exactly three years old today. I've posted a new version which adds DSP-3 and DSP-4 special chip support. The DSP-3 is used by SD Gundam GX, and the DSP-4 is used by Top Gear 3000. Please note that the DSP-3 is not fully emulated, thusly SD Gundam GX is not fully playable. Also, due to lack of timing emulation with the DSP-4, the Top Gear 3000 track sometimes flickers in split screen mode. However, it is believed that Top Gear 3000 is fully playable.

I should also note that I have started on SuperFX emulation, as some will inevitably see said code in my source releases. What I have now is nothing more than a skeleton implementation, and absolutely nothing using it is playable yet. I am making absolutely no promises that I will ever be able to emulate this chip. It will take at least several months of work, and even then, the speed will probably be too slow to reach 60fps on any system, but ... I'm working on it. While I have no way to run tests on the actual SuperFX hardware, I will do the best I can to emulate the chip accurately. I will be emulating the caching and cycle delays as best I can, but the information I have on this chip is extremely limited, so don't expect miracles.

Lastly, as promised, I have released the special chips I have personally emulated to the public domain. See license.txt for more information if interested. I cannot release the special chips whose code I did not write to the public domain, but all of that is already available under the GPLv2 (from ZSNES) or the SNES9x license.

Changelog:
- Added DSP-3 support, thanks to John Weidman, Kris Bleakley, Lancer, z80 gaiden
- Added DSP-4 support, thanks to Dreamer Nom, John Weidman, Kris Bleakley, Nach, z80 gaiden
- Started on support for SuperFX, no games playable as chip emulation is less than 1% complete
- Unsupported special chips will now display an alert
- Missing stbios.bin file when loading Sufami Turbo cartridges will now display an alert
- Video settings now saved separately for windowed and fullscreen mode
- Advanced option video<.mode>.synchronize can be enabled for vsync, but will cause sound crackling
- Added menu option to toggle FPS counter
- Minor source code cleanup

After months of silence and recoding, here it is! PDRoms is back - your favorite legal rom archive. Play games or use tools on real hardware or just in an emulator of choice!

The page is not really in the shape we want to have it, but before our coder celeth is getting busy again... here it is!

What is done so far:
* Main News
* News Archive (News before 2002 are lost, news between 2002 and 2006 need a recategorization, because while converting the old database the formatting has been lost! - This is a task which will take some weeks)
* File Archive for many many systems! Around 700 files are up, more to come - This task will also take some time to get back to the old > 2200 Files.
* Three MAIN RSS Feeds - "News" - "Latest Files" - "Last Updated Files"
* Each category has the option of own WWW news along with two feeds, systemspecific news and systemspecific "new files". If you are not interested in the whole bunch of homebrew, just make sure you visit your favorite system page
* Downloads are FREE and don´t need registration

What needs work?
* Registration system - Sorry it´s not public yet, but if it goes public you will have some "extra features"
* Adding extra features
* Possible display problems in Opera - we are on it!

Thanks to celeth for the new framework and kedo for helping to pull few files up! Kudos to them!

Here is also a special message for my beautiful wife Rabia - Thanks for your patience, I know the work on PDRoms drained our free time Mad - Without your love it would also not be possible to gather all the energy to run such a project. Thanks for your support!

[David Haywood]

More SCSP improvements: [El Semi]
- Fixed endianness issue on 8-bit samples and added interpolation

Fixed several out-of-bounds array accesses in the code. [Andi]

Fixed mask rom test in prmrsocr. [Pierpaolo Prazzoli]

Fixed 64-bit DRC bug that broke kinst in the previous release.
[Aaron Giles]

Added code to detect potential hotspots in the 64-bit DRC. Added
hotspots to all the seattle.c games and several of the vegas.c games.
[Aaron Giles]

Simplified the osd_work implementation. Removed the concept of shared
work items. Added new function osd_work_item_queue_multiple() which
allows efficient queueing of large numbers of work items. Changed
previous osd_work_item_queue() function into an inline that calls the
new function. [Aaron Giles]

Updated Voodoo code to use the new work functions. It now queues
small scanline chunks as independent items rather than using shared
items. Updated code to also copy some parameters to allow for greater
overlapping of emulation and rendering. [Aaron Giles]

For Windows work functions, added new scalable lock implementation
that hopefully has better performance characteristics when scaling
above 2 CPUs. [Aaron Giles]

For Windows work functions, added statistics gathering code. This is
on by default for the moment to help point to problems that might be
encountered with this version. [Aaron Giles]

 MAME GP2X v4.8
Jeudi 11/10/07 à 15:08 par MrBean
Cet excellent portage du célèbre émulateur d'arcade MAME sur la console portable coréenne nommée GP2X est passé à la version 4.8. Optimisation et bugs réparés sont au menu :
- Some GP2X F-100 MK1 consoles do not like the 120hz LCD refresh rate (the screen gets bright).
The 120hz mode is only activated now if the VSync option is activated. Thx, damned, for the report.
- Other minor optimizations and bug-fixes.
- Added a new game: Donkey Kong Factory (US) (dkongex). Thanks to Budbud.
- Integrated the source code of the PSP port done by TTYman.
