 OpenEmu v2.2
Samedi 28/12/19 à 14:26 par Firebrand
Une nouvelle version de cet ensemble de noyaux d'émulateur réunis sous une même interface pour MacOS a été publiée. Et les release notes font enfin leur retour!
- Added GameCube system support. — This core port is absolutely unsupported by Dolphin emulator developers, so please DO NOT report game glitches/compatibility issues upstream. A fast CPU is required for full speed emulation. Saves states are currently NOT enabled due to future updates breaking compatibility. Multi-disc games are currently NOT supported.
- Added support for custom shader bundles.
- Added automatic analog axis calibration. — Minimum and maximum values learned as the stick is moved.
- Added rotation and additional Display Mode screen options for NDS games.
- Added support for multi-port adapters that use multiple USB HID interfaces (e.g. Mayflash).
- Fixed issue where using multiple "automapped" gamepads with similiar HID profiles would not work (e.g. Logitech series, DualShock 4 and DualShock 4 v2, Wii U Pro and Wiimote Plus).
- Fixed Rename Game not working in List View.
- Fixed rare issue where zipped ROMs that failed to load would get deleted.

 RetroArch v1.8.2
- BUG/CRASH/GLSLANG: Fix glslang crashing error – managed to reproduce an issue which has been plaguing users for a while, where glslang throws an assert after closing a game (and starting a new one). This would affect all video drivers that use Slang for shaders, such as D3D10/11/12/Vulkan/Metal
- CHEEVOS: Display Unofficial and Unsupported achievement states
- CHEEVOS: Pass RetroArch and core versions through User-Agent HTTP header
- CHEEVOS: Use PSX.EXE if SYSTEM.CNF cannot be found
- CHEEVOS: Prevent loading state while achievements are still being fetched from server
- CHEEVOS: Pause hardcore if core doesn’t support achievements
- CHEEVOS/CRASH: Fix AddressSanitizer + CHD cause hard crash when Cheevos are enabled
- CORE UPDATER: Only download when new core is available
- CORE UPDATER: Add option to update all installed cores
- DRM/KMS: Better detection for the current video mode
- DYNAMIC RATE CONTROL: Support DRC even when using a vsync swap interval higher than 1
- EMSCRIPTEN: Fix bug in Emscripten input code
- EMSCRIPTEN: Changes to support upgraded emscripten SDK
- FFMPEG CORE: Hardware accelerated video decoding
- FFMPEG CORE: Implement send/receive encoding API, will allow for hardware accelerated AMD video encoding
- FFMPEG CORE: The video FIFO can be removed, since we have a ring buffer in its place. This removes unneeded copy operations and as a positive side improves overall decoding speed. Makes 8k60p SW and 4k60p HW decoding feasible on many systems. For now the ring buffer is 32 images deep. This limitation will be removed, once audio and video decoder have their own packet handling.
- INPUT: Fix ‘Analog stick controls menu even if autoconfig disabled’
- INPUT/TURBO: Added alternate Turbo-Mode ‘Single Button’ – For systems supporting only a single button, the turbo-button will toggle firing that button without the need to hold it. When holding the button turbo will be suspended and resumed when the button is released. Holding the button may have a different function to just tapping it.
- IOS: Forcibly disable Threaded Video until UIWindow concurrency issues are fixed

- OPENGL: Shaders are now working properly (only in OpenGL) when rotating both from Core API rotation and from menu video rotation. The fix is clearly visible with crt-royale for example
- OPENGL: 1:1 PAR is now correct when rotating (both from Core API rotation and from menu video rotation, as you said, in the latter case you currently have to change Aspect Ratio after menu video rotation for it to work)
- OPENGL: When using Custom Aspect Ratio and rotation (both from Core API rotation and from menu video rotation), Integer Scaling is now working properly (correct multiples of internal resolution). Even when Integer Scaling is not activated, the Custom AR width / height are now correctly labeled using (1x), (2x), … suffixes. You also have to activate Integer Scaling after menu video rotation for it to work
- OPENGL: For all other Aspect Ratio options, Integer Scaling and rotation (both from Core API rotation and from menu video rotation) are now working properly together (correct multiples of internal resolution). You also have to activate Integer Scaling after menu video rotation for it to work

- VITA/VITA2D: Several improvements to Vita 2D driver – menu widgets implemented
- VITA/VITA2D: Fix clipping and reduce number of calls
- VULKAN/ANDROID: Workaround weird WSI return codes in landscape mode – Android WSI wants you to use preTransform, and if it is not used correctly, Android 10 will return VK_SUBOPTIMAL_KHR, and we would create a new swapchain every frame. This workaround just ignores this error, since it’s not really an error. A more “proper” fix is to use prerotate and modify the MVP matrices, which might help certain devices with crummy display processors
- VULKAN/ANDROID: Recreate swapchain on orientation change. ANativeWindow getWidth/Height does not detect any changes when using Vulkan, so use the old onContentRectChanged callback to get notified when size changed. Use those values instead when figuring out how large swapchain to create
-WINDOWS/XINPUT: Get rid of 128 byte device name limit for XInput device discover – when device name was too long, it would not be picked up by the XInput driver and would instead fallback to DirectInput
- WINDOWS: ANGLE OpenGL ES 2 support
- UWP: Fix crashes on startup / prompt for folder permissions when trying to load custom.ini
- UWP: Fix – Mouse input is offset on high DPI monitors
- UWP: Fix – Keyboard input hangs sometimes

- UWP: Fix – Enable menu touch input by default
- UWP: Fix – Get user language
- UWP: Fix – Get CPU model name
- UWP: Fix – Use GLUI instead of XMB on Windows Mobile 10
- UWP: ANGLE OpenGL ES 2 support

 Ootake v2.94
Jeudi 26/12/19 à 23:20 par Firebrand
Cet émulateur PC-Engine a été mis à jour. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
- "*About Windows Display-Lag" was added to "Screen" menu. Displays the Windows (video card control panel) setup method for "realizing low display-lag" with V-Sync. The following is the contents.
*Windows settings are required to run Ootake with the same operational feeling as a real machine. If the Windows graphic driver is set to perform vertical synchronization (V-Sync), it will interfere with the Game's V-Sync and cause "Display Lag".
* Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and open Settings (Control Panel) of the video chip maker(NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and set "Vertical sync" in "3D(game) settings" to "Off". These settings can be made for each game with NVIDIA and AMD.
*With GeForce, if Windows10/8, set "Low Latency Mode" to "Off" at the same time (necessary to reflect the vertical sync off). For Windows7(Non-Aero) and earlier, it is recommended to set "Low Latency Mode" to "Ultra" to further reduce the display lag.
*"Ultra" at "Low Latency Mode" is recommended for Win7(non-Aero). On the contrary, please pay attention that "Off" at "Low Latency Mode" is recommended for Win10/8 (in case of Ootake). This situation may change depending on future driver updates.
- The program has been optimized so that even the "PC with power saving settings" will not lose processing and will operate like a real machine.
* In addition, if you use "MSI AfterBurner (video card utility software)" which is considered to be used by a large number of users, if power saving is set, processing will periodically drop and Ootake is not working smoothly (The same problem exists for games with a low GPU load other than Ootake).
* In the case of using AfterBurner or in a PC environment where the processing drops even with v2.94 this time, set the power saving setting in the control panel of the video card driver (for GeForce "Manage 3D Settings"->"Power management mode"), try setting to not save power ("Prefer maximum performance"). By the way, AfterBurner's similar software "ASUS GPU Tweak II" works comfortably without the Ootake processing drop even if the PC was set to power saving (With even MSI's video card works well).
- Made the gamepad settings easier. Directional pad is common setting for all 2-button, 3-button and 6-button pad settings, and only button setting is set for 2-button, 3-button and 6-button pad respectively.
- Corrected left and right black belt processing in horizontal 352 dot mode. In the scene of "Ijuin appearance" of "Tokimeki Memorial", the problem that white flash processing was spread too much was solved.
- When "R-TYPE Complete CD" is played so that flickering of sprites is not reproduced (default), the black band display on the left and right sides of the screen is visible without being hidden (similar to the HuCard version). In addition, "R-TYPE (U)" has been operated in the same way (I had an overseas person check the operation. Thank you).
- Added "FullScreen 240Hz" to the "Screen->FullScreen Customize" menu.
- Added (Revived) "DirectDraw (Old)" to the "Setting-> Screen" menu. Drawing with DirectDraw was deleted in v2.92, but this time it has been restored. Although it is an old drawing method for PC of the age of Windows95, it is still useful when using "low resolution full screen". Use it when you want to display dot-by-dot with cathode ray tub (CRT). In addition, when drawing DirectDraw, the display of "Sound Graph (Info-> Show Audio Channel Graph)" and "x5 times display" added in v2.92 are not supported. With DirectDraw, even when new functions are added in the future, new functions are probably not supported due to development time.
- When resume loading each game, "Window non-stretch setting at the last play" is also restored. Basically, most games are well made to the 4:3 ratio, so it's not recommended unless personally enough, but if you have a game that is easier to play with dot-by-dot, use it Please do it.
- When overscan area display switching (F11 key) is performed in the window mode, centered the window (center position adjustment) for both horizontal and vertical.
- When switching from full-screen display to window display, if the resolution setting for full-screen display was set low (default), fixed a bug that reduced the size of the window display.
- Fixed a problem that V-Sync was not perfect and tearing occurred depending on some PC environment when playing in the "x4" window size.
- Other minor details have been fixed and improved.

 Mednafen v1.24.0-UNSTABLE
Jeudi 26/12/19 à 23:13 par Firebrand
Cet émulateur multi-systèmes a été mis à jour. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
- PSX: Handle SPU CD volume as signed 16-bit instead of unsigned; fixes lowest volume setting in "Star Wars Dark Forces".
- PSX: Tweaked PAL pixel aspect ratio, tweaked nominal FPS values, added setting "psx.correct_aspect", and fixed light gun Y positioning with PAL games.
- SNES-Faust: Added SDD-1 emulation.
- SNES-Faust: Allow emulation to switch away from the SPC700 during execution of opcode 0xFA, between the read and write, to fix bonkers audio that leads to a hang in the "Tenshi no Uta" game.
- SNES-Faust: Extended DMA NMI delay kludge to cover 8-bit LDX #imm to fix hang in "Frisky Tom" in "Nichibutsu Arcade Classics".
- SNES-Faust: Added DSP-2 emulation.
- SNES-Faust: Added MSU1 support.
- SNES-Faust: Added a multithreaded PPU renderer, controlled via the new "snes_faust.renderer" setting, disabled by default.
- SNES-Faust: Added SuperFX overclocking support, controlled via setting "snes_faust.superfx.clock_rate".
- SNES-Faust: Added SuperFX instruction cache emulation support, controlled via setting "snes_faust.superfx.icache", disabled by default.
- SNES-Faust: Added support for Game Genie cheats(entered via Mednafen's cheat system).
- SNES-Faust: Added setting "snes_faust.region" to allow for overriding the automatic region detection and emulating one region while reporting the different region to the game.
- On Windows, call CoInitializeEx() with COINIT_MULTITHREADED before calling SDL_Init(), to prevent potential initialization errors with Mednafen's WASAPI sound code.
- Using drive-relative paths on Windows should no longer make a mess due to Mednafen looking for and putting files in the wrong place.
- SS: Removed "ss.midsync" setting; the functionality it controlled is now always enabled.Added settings "affinity.cd", "affinity.emu", "affinity.video", and "ss.affinity.vdp2" to specify CPU thread affinity masks for the CD read threads, main emulation thread, video blitting thread, and Saturn VDP2 rendering thread, respectively. Setting thread affinities properly can improveSaturn emulation performance on a dual-core CPU with hyperthreading.
- Cleaned up multithreading code and API.
- Removed "using namespace Mednafen;" from types.h, and related changes.
- SNES-Faust: Ignore frameskip if interlace mode is enabled, to avoid feeding uninitialized data into the deinterlacer which leads to a crash.
- Implemented workaround in OwlResampler_neon.inc for a C++ parsing bug in gcc 9.x.
- Apple2: Renamed(with backwards-compatibility aliases) video mode "rgb_alt1" to "rgb_alt" and "rgb_alt2" to "rgb_alt_tfr", and added new video mode "rgb_tfr".
- Apple2: Added support for 32-color custom palettes(will automatically enable a text fringe reduction RGB mode if used).

La dernière mise à jour de MAME de 2019 a coïncidé avec le jour de Noël. Voici les améliorations apportées:
What better way to celebrate Christmas than with a new MAME release? That’s right – MAME 0.217 is scheduled for release today. Just a reminder, this will be the last MAME release that we distribute a pre-built 32-bit Windows binary package for. Compiling for 32-bit targets will still be supported, but you’ll have to build MAME releases yourself starting from next month. This will also be the last release with source code distributed in the “zip in zip” archive format. We recommend getting source code by cloning a tagged revision from one of our version control mirrors (GitHub, GitLab or SourceForge), or you can use the P7ZIP tools to extract the self-extracting 7-Zip source archive. For MAME 0.217, we’ve switched the Windows tool chain to GCC 9.2.0, and uploaded an updated tools package (the minimum supported GCC version has not changed).
With all the housekeeping announcements out of the way, we can get to those juicy updates. The most exciting thing this month is the recovery of the Sega Model 1 coprocessor TGP programs for Star Wars Arcade and Wing War, making these games fully playable. We’ve been working on Virtua Fighter as well, and while the graphics are greatly improved, there are still some gameplay issues as of this release. In other arcade emulation news, sasuke has been busy fixing long-standing graphical issues in Nichibutsu games, and AJR has made some nice improvements to the early SNK 6502-based games.
On the home system side, there are some nice Sam Coupé improvements from TwistedTom, support for Apple II paddle controllers, a better Apple II colour palette, and significant improvements to Acorn RiscPC emulation. TV game emulation is progressing steadily, with two Lexibook systems, the Jungle Soft Zone 40, and the MiWi 16-in-1 now working.
For front-end developers, we’ve added data to the XML list format allowing you to handle software lists enabled by slot card devices (there are a few of these for Acorn and Sinclair home computers). The minimaws sample script has been updated to demonstrate a number of tasks related to handling software lists. For MAME contributors, we’ve made save state registration a bit simpler, and more manageable in the debugger.

 VICE v3.4 (32-bit)
General
- Remove support for Syllable OS, SCO, QNX4, QNX6, SGI, AIX, OpenStep/NextStep/Rhapsody, Solaris/OpenIndiana and remaining traces of Minix, NeXT, SKYOS, UNIXWARE, Sortix
- Remove remaining traces of support for WATCOM, MSVC, OpenWatcom
- Remove aRts support
- Remove YUV rendering
- Remove generation of .chm, .hlp and .info files. Please use the .pdf or .html
- skip building x64 unless --enable-x64 is passed to configure
- do not use the new/experimental 8580 filters unless --enable-new8580filter is passed to configure
- update pattern generator for uninitialized ram. changed defaults so all raminitpattern tests pass.
- remove block device disk image (rawdrive) "support". in linux it was never needed (just use the device file) and on windows it was never implemented.
- added support for the IP232 protocol that was used by the long lost VICE1.19 hack, and which is supported by tcpser for emulating DTR/DCD (carrier detect)
- various userport rs232 fixes
- always save gifs as gif89
- added a couple shift flags to keyboard maps to support virtual cbm/ctrl and mandatory pressed host modifiers. not all keymaps have been updated yet.
- ACIA IRQ fix
- create empty half tracks when mounting d64. fixes skew.d64
- new headless port that can be enabled by passing --enable-headlessui to configure. this can be used to build an emulator without video output, which may be useful for scripting.

Autostart fixes
- Implemented autostart for tapecart images (.tcrt)
- Automatically change drive type when autostarting disk images that do not work with the currently active drive.
- Make AutostartRunWithColon default
- fixed autostart when memory hacks are enabled (plus60k, plus256k, plus4)
- make auto-starting from tape also respect the 'basicload' option, loading absolute by default
- when using a disk image to autostart .prg files, remove the .prg extension from the temporary file name
- many detail fixes that make autostart work as expected in all emulators and in all configurations (eg C128 in 80 columns or C64 mode)

Snapshot fixes
- More strict checking and more explizit error reporting

6510 fixes
- Accurate emulation of ANE#imm and LAX#imm "magic constant" dependency on RDY. All occurrences of unstable use are being logged now. LAX#imm "magic constant" changed to 0xEF, which makes the problem cases "spectipede" and "turrican 3" work.
- fix: reset should set the I flag

VIC-II fixes
- Accurate emulation of the "VSP bug". Warnings about possible VSP related memory corruption are always logged, actual memory corruption is still optional.
- Fixed changing more than one colour register via monitor

VIC fixes
- new noise LFSR as reverse engineered by Lance Ewing.

SID fixes
- use model dependent floating output ttl values like in residfp

Monitor
- Support full expressions in the monitor conditional breakpoints.
- When deleting checkpoints, reset the index to 1 when there are no more checkpoints left
- Added 'RL' for rasterline and 'CY' for cycle in line to list of conditionals that can be used for breakpoints.
- in mc/ms commands show asterisk for 1s and dots for 0s, not the other way around
- adjust number of disassembled lines so the top line does not scroll out of the window when labels are used.
- Added "log" and "logname" commands to control logging to a file

vdrive
- added rudimentary support for CMD-style reading of the RTC
- respect error info in disk images (only when reading right now). Should trick some simple protections.
- report 65535 blocks free rather than 0 so that applications that query available disk space before saving work as expected, e.g. some BBSs

C-64 fixes
- added support for MAX Basic cartridge, new CRTID 61
- added clockport device for rrnet mk3
- fixed reading of 'open' clockport, fixed io dump for clockport devices
- implemented support for cartridge hardware revision in the crt format
- When attaching an Easyflash cartridge image, replace the EAPI driver with the one for the flash chip VICE supports. This way EF images that contain a different driver (for whatever reason) will still work.
- various keymaps added and/or fixed/updated.

C-128 fixes
- added proper C128D model type.
- various MMU fixes
- fixed broken memory mapping in C64 mode
- Completely rewritten VDC vertical handling code. VDC101 demo with it's vdc-split technique is now fully emulated. This rewrite attempts to emulate more how the VDC works internally, and how the video signal/screen react, so the border height etc is now more naturally handled.
- Various misc VDC fixes, e.g. show blank lines with certain register combinations

Gtk3 UI
- Implemented "restore display" (Alt+r). Resets the active window to its minimal/natural size. Handy when stretching the window and then not knowing you can make the window smaller again with resizing that same window until it doesn't get smaller.
- Change double-clicking images in smart/diskattach dialogs to 'open' instead of autostarting
- added options to select rendering backend and filter
- fixed opening files with UTF8 encoded filenames
- Make the (VTE) monitor display on top of the emulated machine window when in fullscreen
- copy only used icons into the distribution, which drastically reduced its size
- Added keyboard debugging to the statusbar
- Added * (all files) filter to the fliplist attach dialog. This will allow people to use Pi1541 *.lst files at their own peril.
- Add proper statusbar messages when using the fliplist.
- Add howto about creating a Gtk3-Windows cross-compiler on Debian with Fedora packages (aka FrankenVICE)
- only show the host keyboard mappings in the list for which we have a valid mapping, grey out symbolic/positional depending on what keymaps are actually available
- Move joystick settings to the joystick widget on the statusbar.
- Windows: add icons to binaries
- allow better control of the filter settings by removing tick marks of the sliders and adding spinboxes (6581+ReSID only)
- Fix the 'media recording' dialog to not show empty widgets when FFMPEG support is missing, show hint on compiling in FFMPEG instead.

SDL fixes
- make hotkeys only check left alt, which makes right alt (alt-gr) work in keyboard mappings.

macOS fixes
- make open-gl work
- binary distributions, font support, GTK3 dock icon
- fix missing icon theme, fixed pdf manual generation, improved build instructions
- fixed macOS make bindist when building out of tree
- Added instructions for building and debugging using Xcode

 higan v107
It has been over two years and *235* WIP releases since higan v106 was released.
And today, finally, I'm posting higan v107 publicly.
There's just no way I'm going to be able to create a full changelog here, but I will summarize the most important parts:
- added Sega CD emulation (BIN+CUE only)
- added Neo Geo Pocket + Neo Geo Pocket Color emulation
- added MSX + MSX2 emulation (cartridges only)
- added SG-1000 + SC-3000 emulation
- added ColecoVision emulation
- added boot ROM emulation for the WonderSwan + WonderSwan Color
- substantial accuracy improvements to the SNES and Game Boy emulation
- created an entirely new tree-view-driven user interface

Please note that the user interface rewrite is extremely substantial, and I can't stress how absolutely critical it is that you read the user guide before attempting to use this new release.

The truth is, the new user interface is not ready, and without a release to gather feedback, it never will be. The old higan v106 user interface was unable to scale up to the complexity of emulating 25 systems and counting. I spent many months working from the ground up on a brand new paradigm so that I could emulate any system of any complexity using a single unified user interface. I believe a tree view to be the best way of expressing infinite flexibility, but this design is unlike any other emulator out there. And I know very well from experience how much we all (myself included) dislike change.

I believe that it's possible to refine this concept and strike a balance between familiarity and intuitiveness. I am not there yet, but with your help, I believe I can get there. Short of stagnation with v106, this was the only path forward.

If you're willing to give this release a try, I'd welcome your feedback. Please understand that right now, it's very rough around the edges with lots of small bugs and no polish. The v107 line will include many public point-releases as I incorporate feedback and rewrite components to make the emulator easier to use.

If you're not onboard with that, please stick with higan v106 and wait this release cycle out until things are finalized in a future release. Or perhaps skip over higan and check out the newly revived bsnes instead: bsnes is what I'm known best for, solid SNES emulation, in a performant, feature-filled, traditional, easy-to-use package.

As before and as always, higan is my personal research project. I know that it's not for everyone, but if you're like me, then I do hope you'll enjoy this release. It's the culmination of literally thousands of hours of work since v106.
