 WinUAE v3.6.1
Lundi 05/03/18 à 11:08 par Firebrand
Comme prévu, la dernière série de beta pour WinUAE fut beaucoup plus courte que d'habitude car voici la nouvelle version stable. Voici la liste des améliorations depuis le v3.6.0:
3.6.0 bugs fixed:
- Crash when running on first Windows 10 release version (build 10240) .
- D3D11 mode fullscreen to/from windowed mode change crashes/blank screens.
- D3D11 mode on screen leds on the fly on/off switching.
- D3D11 mode screenshot via GUI button didn’t work.
- Floppy sound type selection was not loaded correctly from config file.
- It was not possible to create “DOS” file names like “AUX” to directory filesystem.

Older bugs fixed:
- Floppy sound used incorrectly empty drive volume level in certain situations.
- PPC emulation interrupt handling rewrite, fixes for example hang/crash problems with NE2000 based network adapters under OS4.
- Not all Advanced chipset options reset when compatible checkbox was ticked.
- Autoscale ignored small vertical display areas in very top of display in some situations.
- Fixed random crash when at least one Input panel custom event string was set, Restart was clicked and then emulation was started again.
- Blizzard SCSI Kit IV (possibly others) SCSI phase error in certain situations.
- Added better validation to clipboard sharing IFF parsing to prevent crashes if data is truncated.
- -joyport2 -config entry incorrectly used port 3 slot.
- Game Ports panel selected Custom input mapping reverted to none in some situations.
- Restart didn’t completely free configured emulated network cards.
- Other misc bugs fixed.

New features:
- OCS/ECS only BPLCON2 undocumented feature: “illegal” PF1 or PF2 value is now accurately emulated in dual playfield mode.
- If selected D3D11 fullscreen refresh rate is “default”: always prefer highest supported refresh rate.
- Optional threaded emulated RTG VRAM to host OS surface color space conversion/copy.
- Added “Identity” checkbox to Add harddrive panel. If ticked and ATA identity can be read (Direct IDE connection, compatible - USB adapter): real ATA identity data is used in emulated ATA device instead of generic UAE generated and drive appears exactly as it does in real hardware (identical name, geometry etc).
- CHS-only IDE drives can now be mounted in emulation and they appear with real size and geometry when using USB adapters that allow identity read but does not support CHS (like common JMicron based adapters).

New emulated expansions
- Elsat Mega Ram HD
- A.L.F.3
- Progressive Peripherals & Software Zeus 040

There has been a change in MAME's -listfull command in 0.195 which forces us to release a new version of QMC2 although we're not really ready for it. However, a few bug-fixes and improvements went in since the last version, so it's probably worth a new release anyway.

- fix: sample- & software-state checks: merge the process output channels (stdio and stderr) because -verifysamples and -verifysoftlist use both channels in the meantime
- fix: corrected the restoration of the last machine list view during initialization for non-WIP builds
- fix: manual scanner: corrected the font used for logging (general log-font)
- fix: adjusted machine list set counters due to changes in -listfull since MAME 0.195 – this means that MAME 0.195+ is required now (BT #165)
- imp: improved performance when searching for machines
- imp: removed the slot-info cache and all related UI hooks as it’s no longer required for the upcoming new device configurator
- imp: updated the emulator configuration templates to MAME 0.195 (added core state / playback options ‘rewind’ and ‘rewind_capacity’, added core artwork options ‘fallback_artwork’ and ‘override_artwork’, added core miscellaneous option ‘nvram_save’)
- imp: updated category.ini to MAME 0.195
- new: emulator options: added an enforce default toggle switch to every option’s action items so the user can decide to explicitly pass the default value to the emulator (which QMC2 would usually not do)
- wip: reimplementing the device configurator for modern MAME – WIP-info: this doesn’t work properly yet and it won’t load, produce or save any useful slot- & device-setups for you at the moment, the feature isn’t WIP-ified though as it’s already too geared with rest of the UI!

 MAME v0.195
Mercredi 28/02/18 à 11:05 par Firebrand
Une nouvelle version de MAME a été publiée avec la régularité habituelle. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
Whether you’re experiencing a cold snap in Spring or an Autumn heatwave, we hope you’ll enjoy MAME 0.195 just in time for the last day of February. Goodies in this release include further improvements to V.R. Technologies NES- derived hardware, a few more Tiger handhelds, a number of Donkey Kong hacks, the original version of Gigas Mark II, the official Taiwanese release of Street Fighter II': Champion Edition, and more BBC Electron cartridges. If you’re interested in home-to-arcade conversions, you might want to check out the ultra-rare Spanish title Hammer Boy, developed by Dinamic and brought to arcades by Inder – it plays like an oversize Game & Watch.
Namco NA1 emulation has been overhauled, with big visual improvements for Numan Athletics and X-Day 2. Background alignment has been fixed in Popeye, and the driver has been cleaned up overall. We’ve received lots of patches from cam900, covering a large number of drivers. As well as a lot of code cleanup, highlights include ES5510 DSP effects for Taito’s Ensoniq-based sound hardware, improved graphics priorities in Sand Scorpion and Jackie Chan, graphical improvements in Data East MLC games (Skull Fang is closer to working), and K051649 support in the vgmplay driver.
Besides the new working systems, this release includes preliminary support for a number of interesting systems. These include the XaviX platform (used for the Taito Nostalgia and Play TV/ConnecTV lines), the Olympia BOSS, and the Panafacom Duet. IPL- disable has been fixed for Flash- based TI- 8x series calculators. At opposite ends of the spectrum, graphics emulation is noticeably better for Sega Model 2 and the Interpro workstations. We’ve also added VM Labs Aries disassembly support (this is the multi- core VLIW processor used in NUON- enhanced DVD players).
This month, we’ve seen far more internal improvement, code cleanup and modernisation than user- visible improvements. This is all part of our effort to make the code more maintainable, paving the way for future improvements and keeping MAME relevant. That said, the list of emulation improvements and newly supported systems is quite impressive. We’d like to thank all the contributors helping make MAME what it is today.
