- Some WASAPI buffer size + frequency combinations caused immediate hang at startup.

Une nouvelle version de ce frontend pluti-systèmes orienté multimédia a été publiée. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
- Minor bug fixes and improvements.
- The MAME list update is slightly faster.
- The in built artwork downloader has minor fixes and improvements and it is now also included as an external utility.
- With this release the EmuMovies sync utility is no longer included with the install and GameEx uses is its own integrated solution. You can obviously get it from the site if you still want it..
- The artwork downloader now includes Daphne.support.
- Don’t forget that GameEx subscribers get a 25% discount on an EmuMovies subscription.

Il est temps de mettre fin au précédant sondage qui a duré plus longtemps prévu car celui du mois de novembre a tout simplement été... oublié... oups.

Voici les résultats:



La génération 16-bit règne sans partage dans vos souvenirs; avec pratiquement la moitié des voix, la victoire est sans appel. Un certain nombre a néanmoins préféré les consoles 8-bit et les 32-bit, mais le reste n'a le droit qu'aux miettes.


Nous sommes en décembre, et Noël approche à grands pas. C'est donc la moment de faire sa liste au Père Noël! Que vous comptiez offrir ou recevoir, la votre contiendra-t-elle des jeux-vidéo? Une nouvelle console rutilante qui sent bon le neuf, un nouveau blockbuster AAA (que vous aurez oublié dans 2 mois, mais là n'est pas la question), ou de nouvelles pièces rétro à ajouter à votre collection? Verra-t-on les yeux des enfants s'illuminer... ou ceux des adultes prendre d'un coup quelques décennies de moins? A vous de choisir!

Une nouvelle version beta de WinUAE s'ajoute à la liste, mais la prochaine version stable ne devrait plus tarder. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
- Input device on the fly change support now ignores all non-input device change events.
- On the fly switching from keyboard connected to disconnected did nothing.

 MAME ROMs v0.180

La rubrique MAME a été mise à jour avec les sets reconnus par la dernière version de ce célèbre émulateur multi-systèmes (arcade, consoles, ordinateurs et calculatrices). Nous nous intéressons ici qu'à la partie arcade avec tous les fichiers ROMs et CHDs reconnus. Pour vous aider dans son utilisation, nous avons également ajouté les packs de Bios et de Devices.
Nous avons opéré une petite modification pour les CHDs où c'est désormais le set "Merged" qui est en ligne plutôt que le set "Splits". Tous les fichiers CHD sont ainsi regroupés sur une seule page pour un même jeu avec ses différentes versions. Cela améliore la visibilité et les problèmes de compatibilité.

Une nouvelle version de ce frontend multi-systèmes a été publiée. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
New hint box for images panel, support for Mednafen v0.9.39.2, file emulator_parameters[default].ini updated with correct parameters for Mednafen emulator and new reset to default parameter buttons in Emulator Setup screen.
There are some tweaks on the user interface but they are subtle and most of you will not notice.

Fixed
- Frontend crash if you clear all the entries in "Delete Selected Games" dialog

- No more gradient selection bar on games lists, and any other list that uses EasyListView; single color is enough
- Load preview images with threads enabled by default... toggle button no longer available in images tool bar
- Small modification to TFontDialog component to allow custom colors selection (first color in colors list); it's not perfect but it works
- Video preview search sub-folder renamed from "videosnap" to "videosnaps"
- Tweaks, tweaks... tweaks

Removed
- Setting "Selected Game Dark Font" no longer needed; font is always in black color on selected games (preferences screen)

Ce frontend pour MAME a été mis à jour. Comme d'habitude, la version pour MacOS aura un peu de retard et seules celles pour Windows sont disponibles. Les améliorations sont les suivantes:
Besides the usual bug-fixes and improvements QMC2 now has a new icon cache database which is used to slightly speed up icon loading and to make it more independent from the user’s concrete setup. The support for MAME output notifiers has been redone from scratch and should work on any OS now (including Windows, though this is still untested). And last but not least we’ve added optional automatic adjustment of the emulator’s statename parameter in software-lists for easier separation of state-files. See the change-log below for details!

- fix: ROMAlyzer / collection rebuilder: corrected the logged uncompressed size of a dump when reading from a ZIP archive through minizip (minor)
- fix: image or icon sources weren’t refreshed correctly when the decompressor setup (zip, 7z or libarchive) was changed on-the-fly
- fix: honor the component setup / tab order when updating the tab icon for the currently selected view
- imp: removed all ‘terminate emulator’ actions as they don’t work with modern MAME (‘kill emulator’ actions still work and got a nicer icon)
- imp: updated template format to v0.2.9 which adds an optional ‘wip’ attribute for emulator options
- imp: updated PDF.js to a newer git revision (as of 27-OCT-2016)
- imp: updated the os-detection script to also support Arch Linux (also added a distribution specific configuration file for it)

- imp: renamed all remaining settings that were still using the string “Game” in their names to a “Machine” pendant
- imp: emulator configuration templates updated to MAME 0.180 (added new core option ‘homepath’)

- new: added a new ‘icon cache database’ which stores decompressed icon data already mapped to machine IDs (this should speed up icon loading for everyone but can be disabled if not)
- new: reimplemented the support for MAME output notifiers in a platform independent way (this requires a modern version of MAME)
- new: software-lists: added optional automatic adjustment of the emulator’s -statename parameter for easier state-file separation — see also bug tracker ID #129

 MESSUI v0.180

MESSUI retourne a ses origines et ne comporte plus désormais que les jeux des machines domestiques. En effet, la version complète avec les jeux d'arcade est devenue le nouveau MAMEUI. Globalement, MESSUI n'est plus que MAMEUI en version redux, mais les interfaces sont identiques. Ce build ne sera donc intéressant que pour ceux qui ne veulent pas des jeux d'arcade. Des modifications ont également été apportées:
- Fixed 7z support in SW Files tab
- Added back "Software List Base" (SLpath) setting in the directories
- Made "Open Other Software" to default to the "swpath" instead of a random folder
- In Device View, Open Item now only shows if there is a matching software list
- In Device View, Open Item now opens the folder of the software list instead of the SLpath.
- The DATS settings is now moved back to messui.ini. If your DATS folder is not "dats", you will need to set it up again
- Removed 3 items from the treeview for a faster startup

La version non officielle 32-bit de MAME a également été mis à jour avec les dernières sources disponibles. Mais ce n'est pas tout car Robbert a précisé qu'il y a eu un changement d'interface qui touche également MAMEUI64 (JohnIV n'a pas fait de release note précise mais a remercié Robbert pour les modifications). Globalement, l'ancienne interface de MAMEUI a été retirée et MESSUI "complet" avec sa partie MAME et sa partie MESS est devenu le nouveau MAMEUI:

La mise à jour mensuelle de MAME est arrivée. Voici ce qu'elle nous réserve:
Hello everybody! Are you ready for the November MAME release? It’s definitely ready for you, and there are lots of reasons to get excited this time around. First and foremost, a number of ARM CPU core fixes mean you can now boot to the RISC OS desktop on an emulated Acorn Archimedes, and try some of the included applications. The same bug fixes allow a number of Aristocrat Mark 5 gambling machines to boot and run in demonstration mode. There are still some issues to iron out, but things have definitely improved enormously.
On the arcade front, protection on Atari Space Lords has finally been reverse-engineered making the game playable. This is an interesting space combat game for one or two players, where the second player takes on the role of the gunner/co-pilot. In another improvement that’s been a long time coming, The Acclaim RAX sound board is now emulated, bringing sound to Batman Forever and NBA Jam Extreme. There are substantial improvements to the Magnet System emulation (added in last month’s release) making these rare prototype bootlegs playable. David Haywood also fixed some graphical issues in Altered Beast, and Angelo Salese fixed graphical issues in The Lost Castle in Darkmist.
There are some other notable improvements in computer emulation, too. Barry Rodewald has added support for IC Card (PCMCIA SRAM) storage on the FM Towns, and substantially improved LSI Octopus emulation. The Mac 128/512/Plus drivers have been modernised, and serial port support has been added to the Apple IIgs driver. Another DEC Rainbow 100 update from Bavarese fixes colours in high-resolution mode among other improvements.
Newly supported systems include RC De Go (Go By RC outside Japan), newly dumped versions of 1945k III, Forgotten Worlds, Sol Divide and Vendetta, the Italian release of Mustache Boy, 286-based versions of the Intel iSBC, bootlegs of Blue Shark, Pole Position II and Ozma Wars, more Fidelity and Mephisto chess computers, and more electronic toys.
